Crying

It wasn’t until I was standing helpless by my son’s hospital bed, watching him drift through a coma, that I discovered just how hard a human body can cry. I got good at it. I recognized situations that demanded releasing a few ounces of tears. I would give myself over to it and, after a few minutes, the sensation would pass and I’d get back to work. It’s how I survived.
