I didn’t know how to feel. 2 months ago, we got the call we’d been waiting on for 4 years. I was elated that doctors were finally going to fix a host of issues my son had spent years overcoming. I also dreaded the weeks it would take to get through it, knowing the whole time my wife and I would be alternating nights in the hospital. Being admitted to one is its own, uniquely horrible thing. One we’ve grown sadly accustomed to since our son was born.
