Book Epilogue
The conclusion to the book version of Horrible Things.

Writing the ending to a book that’s far from finished is highly presumptuous. I’m putting the cart several feet in front of the cart here. But just like it helps to pen a rough draft of my book’s Foreword, it’s nice to know where I’d like all of these messages to lead to. So here’s my proposed ending to the book version of this Substack.
While there is a last page to this guide, horrible things never end. You’ll have to decide how long you want to help your friends, how much effort you can put into their care, and there is no correct response. I hope that when the problem you and your friends are trying to solve eventually normalizes, you can put this guide back on the shelf and forget about it. I hope you learned one or two lessons and then things magically got better.
But I don’t think that happened.
